Sunrise at Campobello
with Ralph Bellamy
Released September 28, 1960
Directed by Vincent J. Donehue, produced by Dore Schary, based on the play by Dore Schary.
Cast - Ralph Bellamy, Greer Garson, Hume Cronyn, Jean Hagen, Ann Shoemaker.
Synopsis: The early years of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt, their life in politics and his battle with polio.
Comments: Garson earned her seventh Oscar nomination for her incredible portrayal of a young Eleanor Roosevelt. It is an outstanding performance matched only by Bellamy as Roosevelt. She used prosthetic teeth to help her capture Eleanor's look but in her performance, she actually became Eleanor Roosevelt. It was one of her favorite roles and probably the most impressive of her career.
